On June 18th, I had a fall off of my full-suspension mountain bike and broke my scapula. This turn of events was a major damper for the summer of fun of which I had planned. Luckily I was still able to do a bunch of walking with my dogs, and spent as much time outside as I could.
Once I was recovered and was able to get back to normal in the fall, I decided the perfect celebration for my newfound freedom would be to attend the Ron’s Bikes Nutmeg Nor’Easter on October 25th in Killingworth, Ct.
I only attended for the 25th, even though it runs from the 24th to the 26th. I live only an hour-ish north so attending only one day is easy for me.
It was a VERY well run event, and very well attended, with people coming from far away. For those of us who love looking at fine bicycle SPECIMENS, and riding on mixed surfaces in a non-competitive atmosphere, this is the evert to attend. The food was amazing, and I was able to meet many very nice folks. I am looking forward to next year.
